The Word AGAPE
means unconditional love.

The CROSS is recognized by Christians all over the world as a symbol of such unconditional love. It was on that cross that GOD'S son, JESUS, died out of love to pay for the sins of the whole world. “For GOD so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

The HEART is also recognized by Christians and non-Christians throughout the world as a symbol of love, but only when it is connected with the cross can it truly be AGAPE LOVE.

The NAIL PIERCED HANDS remind us of the one who is always ready to love and meet our needs. JESUS. It was, after all, love, not nails that kept JESUS on the cross.

“Greater love has no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.” (John 15:13)

As we assist you here at AGAPE HELP HOUSE, it is our desire, hope and prayer that we reflect HIS love in such a way that you will want to know HIM. If you do not already know JESUS. receive HIS love in a personal way today.

Our Mission

The mission of the AGAPE HELP HOUSE is to assist low income, disabled and elderly families who have difficulty meeting their monthly financial needs.

History of The Agape Help House

In 1985 Archie and Delores Lunsford and Don Brown saw the need for a food pantry in the Pacific area. The original food pantry started in the Lunsford's basement. As the need for additional services arose, a group of churches of different denominations, representatives of businesses and interested individuals from the Pacific community gathered together to lend a hand serving the needy in the eastern part of Franklin County .

The Agape Help House had been at it's previous location since early 1986 and has grown from assisting 12 families to over 200 per week. The need for a larger facility prompted the move to 120 LaMar Parkway in December 2001. The area served has also expanded to include the entire Meramec School District and parts of Washington , Union , Labadie and St. Clair. Last year approximately 179,000 items of canned, boxed or frozen foods as well as bakery and dairy products was distributed to over 17,000 individuals.

The AGAPE HELP HOUSE is a non-profit organization staffed primarily by dedicated volunteers.
