The Word AGAPE |
|
The HEART is
also recognized by Christians and non-Christians throughout the world
as a symbol of love, but only when it is connected with the cross can
it truly be AGAPE LOVE. “Greater love has no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. (John 15:13) As we assist you here at AGAPE HELP HOUSE, it is our desire, hope and prayer that we reflect HIS love in such a way that you will want to know HIM. If you do not already know JESUS. receive HIS love in a personal way today. |

History of The Agape Help House |
|
The Agape House of Pacific is located in Pacific, Missouri. Pacific is located along Historic Route 66, Interstae 44, Union Pacific and Burlington Frisco Railroads, and the Meramec River. St. Peter Sandstone Bluffs line the north side of Pacific. In 1985 Archie and Delores Lunsford and Don Brown saw the need for a food pantry in the Pacific area. The original food pantry started in the Lunsford's basement. As the need for additional services arose, a group of churches of different denominations, representatives of businesses and interested individuals from the Pacific community gathered together to lend a hand serving the needy in the eastern part of Franklin County . The Agape Help House had been at it's previous location since early 1986 and has grown from assisting 12 families to assisting over 300 - 350 families per month at our current location at 120 LaMar Parkway in Pacific. The need for a larger facility prompted the move to 120 LaMar Parkway in December 2001. The area served has also expanded to include the entire Meramec School District. January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2009, The Agape House of Pacific served approximately 320,550 items of canned, boxed or frozen foods as well as bakery and dairy products, personal hygeine items, and paper products were distributed to over 7,000 individuals through-out the year. This equates to serving 300 - 350 families each month in the food pantry. The AGAPE HELP HOUSE is a non-profit organization staffed primarily by dedicated volunteers. |
